The Intensive begins by explaining the reasons behind the research and the quantifiable findings that these practices increase dancers’ physical, mental, and emotional availability.Participants will take both the Five Facet Mindfulness Questionnaire, and the Mindfulness in Dance Questionnaire at the beginning and end of the week. We will cover all of the exercises in the book Mindful Rigor: Holistic Training to Enhance Dance Performance and each participant will create their own individual morning, evening, and in-class protocols. Every session will be a mixture of presentation and physical practice and will include at least 2 lunch breaks based in mindful eating. By the end of the workshop participants will have a working knowledge of the tools of Mindful Rigor.
This workshop can be done consecutively or non-consecutively
The Deep Dive begins by explaining the reasons behind the research and the quantifiable findings that these practices increase dancers’ physical, mental, and emotional availability. We will cover half of the exercises in the book Mindful Rigor: Holistic Training to Enhance Dance Performance and each participant will create their own individual morning, evening, and in-class protocols. These sessions will be a mixture of presentation and physical practice and will include a lunch break based in mindful eating. By the end of the workshop participants will have a working knowledge of the tools of Mindful Rigor.

This six -hour workshop begins by explaining the reasons behind the research and the quantifiable findings that these practices increase dancers’ physical, mental, and emotional availability. Participants will take both the Five Facet Mindfulness Questionnaire, and the Mindfulness in Dance Questionnaire at the beginning of the day. We will cover roughly one-fourth of the exercises in the book Mindful Rigor: Holistic Training to Enhance Dance Performance and each participant will create their own individual morning, evening, and in-class protocols. This session will be a mixture of presentation and physical practice and will have a lunch break based in mindful eating. By the end of the workshop participants will have experience working with some of the tools of Mindful Rigor.
This three- and a half hour workshop can be structured in two ways.

B. Activity Focus.
Both begin by explaining the reasons behind the research and the quantifiable findings that these practices increase dancers’ physical, mental, and emotional availability. Participants will be given the links to take the Five Facet Mindfulness Questionnaire, and the Mindfulness in Dance Questionnaire on their own time.
A. Will explore the research deeper and go into the brain/emotional science behind the practices and will physically practice three of of the exercises in the book Mindful Rigor: Holistic Training to Enhance Dance Performance.
B. Will spend the majority of the time covering four to five of the exercises in the book Mindful Rigor: Holistic Training to Enhance Dance Performance
Each session will end with a snack break based in mindful eating and Q&A. By the end of the workshop participants will have experience working with some of the tools of Mindful Rigor.
